High profile NRL club is under pressure to keep Grand Final winning stars

Bombshell new reports have emerged claiming more Brisbane Broncos may leave the club at the end of 2026.

The rumours have begun gaining more traction after it was confirmed Payne Haas would be defecting to the Rabbitohs, and Adam Reynolds would be retiring.

Haas shocked the rugby league world by announcing he’d join Wayne Bennett’s club for three seasons in 2027.

It has now been confirmed Reynolds will finish up with Brisbane this season – but his departure is down to him announcing his retirement from football.

It comes as a new claim has since been made as the ‘Triple M Whisper’ on the radio station’s breakfast show.

‘I’m hearing Payne Haas and Adam Reynolds might not be only the two players departing the Broncos,’ an anonymous tipster told Beau Ryan, Aaron Woods and Cat Lynch.

‘Other key players at the club are one again apparently off intense coach Michael Maguire,’ the whisperer claimed.

The former Wests Tigers teammates have pointed to the idea that rumblings of player dissatisfaction surrounding Maguire’s coaching at Brisbane is nothing new.

‘They said the same thing last year,’ Ryan said.

‘This time last year … look at the end result. (Madge) is the reason those blokes have the rings around their finger,’ Woods replied.

Maguire’s coaching was scrutinised heavily by journalists and pundits across the majority of last season.

They claimed his methods were causing Broncos players to burn out, after reports of frustration reportedly emerged from the playing group.

Former frontman Martin Taupau added fuel to the fire prior to his exit last season.

He did so by liking a post on social media which questioned Maguire’s coaching methods.

The revelation led to Taupau being sacked by the club just months before they broke an almost two-decade long premiership drought.

It comes as Brisbane are also weighing up the possibility of suffering another player loss.

Popular half Ben Hunt, who is 35-years-old, is being tipped to retire within the coming seasons.

The Broncos veteran completed a stunning redemption story in last year’s decider.

After being somewhat blamed for Brisbane’s Grand Final loss in 2015 due to a costly kick off blunder, he rebounded to help his team into last year’s decider.

Star fullback Reece Walsh then stole the show, and produced a Clive Churchill medal winning performance for the ages.

Brisbane claimed a 26-22 triumph, to hand the Melbourne Storm a second consecutive grand final loss.

The Broncos kick off their premiership defence against the Penrith Panthers on March 6.
