Lady Louise Windsor, the daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, skipped Trooping the Colour for the second year in a row. Trooping the Colour 2024 was her last time appearing at the event.
Despite being the youngest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth, Lady Louise keeps a relatively low profile. She is currently studying at the University of St. Andrews, where her cousin Prince William famously met Kate Middleton, and on occasion joins the royals on holidays. She was not at Easter this year, however, nor at her cousin Peter Phillips’s wedding to Harriet Sperling this past weekend. Her 18-year-old younger brother, James, Earl of Wessex, attended both events.

Last month, she was photographed working at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, and took part in the carriage driving meet on the final day of the event. According to Hello, Louise took on a part-time job at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, a favorite event of her late grandmother, for which she received a paid salary. “Duchess Sophie and Prince Edward provided Lady Louise and her brother James with as normal an upbringing as possible, and this is clearly reflected in her work ethic,” a source told the publication. “She is very grounded and down-to-earth, you wouldn’t know she was a royal. It was her idea to ask for a part-time job. She’s very hard-working.”
On her her LinkedIn page, Lady Louise wrote, “I am interested in pursuing a career in the military, diplomacy, or law.” If she does decide to enlist, she could make history as the first female royal to serve in the military since her late grandmother.
