Paulina Porizkova is proving that it’s never too late to prioritize your physical strength.
The 61-year-old supermodel shared an inside look at her fitness routine in a recent Instagram video, revealing that she didn’t really start working out until her 40s. Now, she gets to the gym two or three times a week with her trainer, where she works through deadlifts, pull-ups, lunges, and more exercises most of us would probably need a pep talk to attempt.
“I really used to hate to work out. And so I didn’t do it until I was in my 40s,” she told her followers. “I still kind of hate working out; I’d much rather be reclining on the couch and reading novels. Unfortunately, that might feed my brain, but it doesn’t really do it for my body. So, here I am, at the gym.”

Finding Strength in Her Sixties
Porizkova may not exactly love the gym, but she knows how much better she feels when she goes. She explained that strength training has helped with her “pretty severe anxiety,” while also making her feel stronger than she ever expected at this stage of life.
The model joked that even with a recent 10-pound menopausal weight gain, her improved endurance keeps her energized. She shared video clips from a recent wedding reception where she danced the night away with guests half her age.
Above all, she loves feeling capable in her own skin. “The totally unexpected benefit of working out… I’m a lot stronger than I used to be!” she wrote in her caption.
A Shared Fitness Journey
Her husband, Jeff Greenstein, is also putting in work at the gym and celebrating his own health milestones. Porizkova proudly shared that his knee issues have improved and that his waist size dropped from 38 to 35 inches.
She and Greenstein have both dealt with setbacks along the way — Porizkova previously underwent bilateral hip replacement surgery after years of pain, while he had been struggling with knee issues. But instead of letting those changes slow them down, they found a routine that helps them feel good in the bodies they have now.
“To feel like we’re in the best shape of our lives in our sixties is a revelation… I have never enjoyed being in my body more than today at 61,” she concluded.
