Will Smith has been accused of posting an ’embarrassing’ video featuring AI shots of fans cheering in the crowd during his current tour.
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star, 56 — who broke down in tears during a recent show — began the UK leg of his Based on a True Story tour in Scarborough on Sunday, August 24, in support of his recent album of the same name.
A video from his official YouTube channel, titled ‘My favourite part of tour is seeing you all up close. Thank you for seeing me too,’ has recently gone viral, with fans claiming it’s using AI-generated footage.
Social media users have pointed out a number of bizarre visual errors in the clip, such as blurred faces, oddly shaped hands that appear to have six fingers, and a sign that reads ‘FR6SH CRINCE.’
Another part of the clip shows a man’s knuckle seemingly blur along with his sign, which reads: ‘”You Can Make It” helped me survive cancer. THX Will.’
The clip also features a woman who is seen holding onto a sign, but the headband of another woman behind her appears over her wrist.

‘Why is the crowd fake??’ one fan wrote in the comments. ‘Equal parts embarrassing as it is hilarious,’ another added.
‘Imagine being this rich and famous and having to use AI footage of crowds and bot comments on your video. Tragic, man. You used to be cool.’
‘LOL fake AI crowd,’ another fan wrote.
‘The crowd is ai lmfao.’
‘Ah yes “I love you FR6Sh Crince” def no ai, really thought better of you.’
‘So not only is this an abomination to look at because it’s low quality phone footage that’s been heavily AI upscaled, but there’s also in-between scenes that are clearly AI-generated.’
‘Holy AI… It’s not even a good AI render you instantly see that is fake…’
‘LOV U FR6SH CRINCE,’ another fan poked fun of a sign featured in the clip.
‘AI crowd, Embarrassing.’
‘There’s no way the creators didn’t see how obvious the AI was. Is it intentional to get the conversation going?’

Smith released his first album in two decades, Based on a True Story, in March.
His UK tour continued in Cardiff on Monday, August 25, with future shows scheduled in Manchester, London, and Wolverhampton.
In March, Smith sparked concern as he broke down in tears during the first show for his comeback album tour.
The entertainer couldn’t hold back the tears during his emotional concert in Las Vegas.
The Oscar winner — who remains banned from all Academy-related events for a decade following his infamous slap of Chris Rock — delivered a high-energy performance at the House of Blues, running through hits like Wild Wild West, Men in Black, and Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It, per TMZ.
But in between the upbeat moments, he took time for some deeply personal reflections that left him visibly emotional.
Smith teared up as he opened up about two major turning points in his life — the traumatic birth of his firstborn and the heartbreaking loss of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air co-star James Avery, according to witnesses.

The entertainer gained recognition in American hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince who released Grammy-winning single Parents Just Don’t Understand (pictured in 1989)
Performing his 1997 track Just the Two of Us, he shared that the song was inspired by the ‘terrifying’ birth of his son Trey, now 31, whom he shares with his first wife, Sheree Zampino.
Later, he struggled to hold back tears as he honored Avery, who played the beloved yet formidable Uncle Phil and passed away in 2013.

In the Nineties, he starred in the hit sitcom The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air about a fictionalised version of himself, born and raised in West Philadelphia, who is sent to live with his wealthy uncle in Los Angeles.
His debut solo album, Big Willie Smith, was released in 1997 and included the hit song Men In Black, which accompanied the film of the same name and peaked at number one in the UK singles chart.
Across his career, Smith has starred in dozens of films including The Pursuit Of Happyness (2006), I Am Legend (2007), and Suicide Squad (2016).
