Café-goers have been left divided after a pair of Aussies blasted baristas for failing to sprinkle chocolate on the top of cappuccinos.
The two friends have posted a series of videos to TikTok, catching out ‘choc-less’ cappuccinos around Sydney.
In one video, the pair stared at each other suspiciously after noticing their cappuccinos had chocolate powder mixed through – but not dusted on top.
They ended up waving down a waiter and asking for more chocolate, who handed them the metal shaker so they could sprinkle more powder on their drinks.
The women shared a message for cafés in the caption.
‘PSA to all the Sydney cafes: Please add (chocolate) to all cappuccinos so we can stop embarrassing ourselves,’ they announced.
Their light-hearted message sparked a debate online about whether chocolate powder should be stirred through a cappuccino or sprinkled on top.
Many coffee drinkers agreed with their assessment.

Some said a generous serve of chocolate was more important than latte art.
‘The reason I get a cap is for that delicious chocolate taste at the start of the sip, save the art for a latte,’ one wrote.
‘I get the art is prettier, but if I order a cap, it means I want the chocolate flavour at the start of the sip and not mixed in,’ another agreed.
‘I always ask for extra choc. If it’s not smothered, it’s unacceptable,’ a third said.
One said the ‘worst’ kind of cappuccino does not have any chocolate.
‘The only thing worse than this is when you order a cappuccino overseas and they don’t put any chocolate on it at all,’ they wrote.
The original, Italian cappuccino was equal parts espresso, steamed milk and foam – with no chocolate.
Some people said they still preferred their coffee the traditional way.
The viral videos reignited the long-running discussion over how much chocolate is essential to a ‘proper’ cappuccino (file image, Sydney café by morning)
Others, however, defended the powder-less cappuccinos.
‘All the baristas across Australia’s hearts just broke,’ one joked.
‘They’re pouring the chocolate onto the shot, instead of at the end. It’s so it makes less mess and makes the art prettier!’ they added.
