A boutique fitness studio is coming to Ballston and hosting free pop-up classes around town this fall.

The gym franchise barre3 has signed a lease at 818 N. Quincy Street in Ballston, according to a press release. In advance of the opening, the new studio is hosting pop-up community classes across Arlington over the next few weeks.

The studio is opening ‘later this year’

The studio is set to open around December this year, studio owner and longtime barre3 instructor Amy McNamara told ARLnow.
The new studio will join a few retail tenants on the ground floor of Liberty Tower, including Poppyseed Rye and Life Alive Cafe, now expected to open in late fall.
The barre3 workout includes components of cardio, strength training and breath work.

Free classes scheduled through next month

At least 12 barre3 pop-ups are scheduled through Tuesday, Oct. 7, at venues like Faith Lutheran Church, Clarendon Presbyterian Church and True Food Kitchen.
Pop-up classes are 45 minutes each, and tickets are free on Eventbrite. Guests should bring yoga mats, water and hand weights.
The franchise has other nearby locations in Falls Church, D.C., Alexandria and Bethesda. A previous Clarendon location closed in 2022.
