A second surprise elimination has all but guaranteed Big Brother season 27 a spot in reality TV history…as quite possibly the most hated season of the show ever. Keanu Soto was eliminated from Big Brother this week in yet another surprise mid-week eviction.
At the start of the week, there were five players left in the Big Brother house: Keanu, Vince Panaro, Morgan Pope, Ashley Hollis, and Ava Pearl. But then the live feeds went down for a few hours and—surprise—when they came back online, Keanu was gone. It didn’t take a genius to figure out that Keanu had been evicted, but fans had to wait until Wednesday night to watch it all go down.
How was Keanu evicted from Big Brother?
Keanu was a big fan-favorite going into this final week of Big Brother 27, which made him a threat to Vince and Morgan, who are pretty much running the house now thanks to Vince’s streak of HoH wins. So, it wasn’t exactly a surprise when Vince put Keanu on the block for eviction with Ava.
Keanu’s only hope was to win the Power of the Veto competition. Unfortunately for Keanu, as fans saw on Wednesday, Morgan ended up winning the veto power and choosing not to use it. At the end of the day, Keanu tried to make his case to stay, but was sent home by a unanimous open vote.
Why are fans upset?
Keanu is the second major player of the season, after Rachel Reilly, to be evicted during during an off-camera comp or deliberation, meaning he didn’t get a live eviction. To have such game-changing evictions spoiled by the live feeds is a pretty big disappointment for fans.
More on That…What does Keanu’s eviction mean for the Big Brother 27 winner?
Speaking in the Diary Room after his eviction, Keanu said, “I’m the one that put myself in this position by trusting the wrong people.” It’s clear at this point that he regrets trusting Vince to take him to the end, which means that Vince might have just cost himself a Big Brother win. After all, the winner is chosen based on the Jury vote of evicted contestants, and Vince has sent multiple players packing.
At this point, everyone seems to be in agreement that if Morgan makes it to the final two, she’ll be victorious and sweep the votes. However, her presumed domination is only going to make Vince, Ava, and Ashley more eager to evict her before Sunday night’s finale. As of Thursday, it looks like the only way Morgan is going to the final two is if she wins the last HoH competition. God speed!
We’ll find out who wins Big Brother live on Sunday, September 28, at 8:30 p.m. ET.
