There was chaos in the This Morning kitchen on Wednesday, after host Cat Deeley chipped her tooth live on air.
The presenter, 49, and her co-host Ben Shephard were joined by chef Elliott Grover for a Bonfire Night-inspired cooking segment, where he whipped up a number of toffee apples.
Talking viewers through the process of creating the sweet treats, the chef showed Cat and Ben the variety of yummy toppings he had on offer, including popping candy and maple bacon.
The duo weren’t able to resist taking a taste of the delicious-looking apples, with Ben, 50, scooping up three at once to try.
Elliot insisted that the treats were soft enough not to harm their teeth, but warned them to take care when biting into the coating.
He said: ‘They’re really healthy. And do you see, it’s not too hard, so it won’t damage your teeth. Be careful.’

However, as Cat took a big bite, she immediately paused, feeling the front of her teeth with her tongue with concern.
Noticing his co-host’s worried expression, Ben peered at her mouth and asked: ‘Has that tooth gone a little bit wobbly?’
As Cat remained silent and continued to examine her teeth with her fingers, Ben tried to reassure: ‘It’s alright, the tooth fairy will come!’
However, as the pair chatted to Kaye Adams in the Loose Women studio, Cat confirmed her concerns had come true, exclaiming: ‘I’ve chipped my tooth!’
Ben couldn’t hold back his laughter, joking: ‘The good news is, Bob Mortimer left us his dentist’s number so we can get you a set of dentures,’ as Cat grumbled: ‘Oh my lord.’
She later showed off the damage to her tooth and lamented that her biggest annoyance wasn’t the chip, but that she had little time to go to the dentist to get it fixed.Â
And it wasn’t Cat’s only moment of misfortune during Wednesday’s show, with comedian Bob also brutally joking that the hapless host ‘stinks’ minutes into an interview.Â

The comic, 66, who appeared on the ITV morning show to promote his new book The Long Shoe, was quizzed by Cat and Ben on his writing process, having released at least two best-selling books in the past.Â
Recreating his writing set-up at home for the viewers, Bob invited Cat to play his pet cat, as he acted out penning a novel.
Putting his feet up on the sofa, he explained: ‘I sit on my sofa lengthways – I’ll be here with a laptop and a cat, there’s always a cat.’
Cat quickly cut in: ‘Hold on, hold on!’ and got up from her seat to place herself on the floor next to Bob, pretending to be one of his beloved pets.Â
Patting her on the head, Bob joked: ‘Good boy!’ as Cat pretended to act like a feline, meowing in his direction.
However, she soon dropped out of character as the comedian told her: ‘Blimey, you stink!’ leaving Cat open-mouthed, as Bob hurriedly rushed to explain:Â ‘No, my cat’s got dental problems… I don’t mean you.’
Quickly moving on, he continued: ‘My telly is there, and I write away while I watch Married At First Sight or Real Housewives, I love reality TV, I’m a big fan.’
Sitting back down on the sofa, Cat and Ben went on to quiz Bob on what viewers can expect from the new series of Last One Laughing, which sees him return as reigning champion.Â

Bob was the last man standing in the first series released on Prime Video earlier this year, which saw ten comedians tasked with staying in a room together without laughing.Â
The author made it all the way to the final alongside Richard Ayoade, before finally getting him to crack with a series of dry jokes, sat on the back of a pretend horse.Â
He previously broke the likes of Loose Women star Judi Love by creaking on a chair while sitting down, and nearly sent Daisy May Cooper packing with a song he’d made up, Slender People. Â
Teasing the return of the song, Bob revealed: ‘In the new series I’m defending champion and I think I get rid of someone via the gift of song…’
Asked whether or not the group of comedians, which also included Rob Beckett and Joe Wilkinson, knew the show was going to be a big hit, he added: ‘Absolutely not. That’s the reason we did it, because we thought, “nobody’s going to watch it!”‘
