Footy star has seemingly bulked up considerably
NRL superstar Reece Walsh is renowned for his sense of humour on social media – and it appears the Broncos fullback has been up to his old tricks again.
Walsh, 23, posted a recent story on Instagram where he thanked artist Calum Hotham for his mural painting – but it was the six-pack on the premiership-winner which stunned footy fans.
The excitement machine may have used Chat GPT to playfully give himself a hulking physique – but Daily Mail won’t speculate about any potential use of AI until Walsh confirms or denies it himself.
If the image is unedited, Walsh has been living in the gym over the Christmas/New Year period ahead of the 2026 NRL season.
He won’t forget last year in a hurry, with Walsh a crucial figure as Brisbane won their first title since 2006.
Walsh was also a standout for the Kangaroos as they completed an Ashes series clean-sweep in the United Kingdom.

A trip to a Gold Coast tattoo parlour dated December 15 on social media could ‘expose’ Walsh’s banter on social media
In September, Walsh was seen drinking water out of his toilet – and then played up to the joke after winning the NRL Grand Final (pictured)
Comments online following Walsh’s latest Instagram story were divided.
‘Reece Walsh really let himself go over the summer break,’ joked one.
‘I’m sorry, there is a painting in this picture? All I see is that amazing six-pack,’ said another.
‘AI generated. Reece doesn’t have abs,’ a third weighed in with.
Walsh then posted, most likely tongue-in-cheek : ‘Seems to be a lot of haters in the dms (direct messages).’
On the Cast Patrol Instagram footy page, plenty of supporters were adamant the picture was AI generated – and Walsh’s trip to the Meraki Tattoo Parlour at Mermaid Beach on the Gold Coast is also telling.
In vision dated from December 15 last year, a much slimmer Walsh can be seen adding some ink to his body after Brisbane ended their premiership drought.
It would mean Walsh has become significantly bigger in just a few weeks.
His laughing emoji on the original post also tells the story.
Footy fans are well aware that Walsh is a serial prankster on Instagram as well as Snapchat.
In September, Walsh was bizarrely seen drinking water out of his toilet – and then informed his followers it helps to aid his recovery after a match.
The vision quickly went viral, with the Broncos issuing a statement which urged fans not to follow suit.
Walsh continued the banter in the NRL finals with a toilet water try celebration – and ended his Clive Churchill Medal acceptance speech by yelling ‘plumber out!’ after Brisbane beat Melbourne in the NRL grand final.
