Princess Ingrid Alexandra is certainly getting into the spirit of Australian student life.
The future Queen of Norway, 21, is enrolled at the University of Sydney where she is studying for a Bachelor of Arts degree.
But on Monday, Ingrid traded the lecture theatre for a boat party on Sydney Harbour, surrounded by her college girl gang.
The party appeared to be Christmas-themed, with many revellers decked out in Santa Claus costumes. In Australia, it’s become a quirky custom to hold ironic ‘Christmas in July’ celebrations during the Southern Hemisphere winter – a nod to the traditional cold-weather Christmas missed during the country’s sweltering December.
Ingrid – the daughter of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit – was a vision in wintry white, pairing a T-shirt and matching jacket with wide-leg jeans, and accessorising with a Russian Cossack-style hat.

Ingrid also wore a white feather boa, which looked to be de rigueur for the female partygoers, with many also sporting the fashion accessory.
She carried her essentials in a large blue denim handbag.
The young royal looked delighted to be taking a break from her studies, beaming as she arrived at the weekday party with friends.
She looked particularly close to two girls, with the trio snapping selfies as they made their way onto the boat.
It looked like quite the party, with photos showing the onboard bar fully stocked with Red Bull energy drinks in the refrigerator.
After spending five hours on the yacht, onlookers say Ingrid Alexandra was picked up by two white BMWs – vehicles that were previously used by Queen Mary and King Frederik of Denmark during their visits to Australia.
She was driven to the Marly in Newtown – a King Street bar popular with uni students and known for its trivia nights. She was last seen buying a round of drinks for her mates.
Apparently, things got a little more raucous when Ingrid’s group of friends moved on from the Marly to the nearby Coopers Hotel.

Some students were seen looking rather worse for wear in the street; however, it’s unclear if Ingrid was still out at that point.
Since moving Down Under, Ingrid has already formed a very close-knit circle of friends.
Insiders say Ingrid’s ‘squad’ has been fervently protecting her from the glare of the cameras.
The princess’ retinue – known locally as the ‘paparazzi posse’ – has been scoping the streets for photographers and peering into parked cars to check for lurking snappers.
It’s not for nothing, either, as police have reportedly been called on more than one occasion due to paparazzi activity.
Police also appear to be doing regular patrols of the area surrounding Sydney University.
Princess Ingrid Alexandra arrived in Australia to begin her three-year undergraduate degree in July.
Taking to Instagram at the time, she said she was ‘excited’ to become a student and was ‘looking forward to starting my studies’.
She appeared in great spirits as she posed on the university’s campus for the accompanying photo.

Along with the selection of new photographs, the Royal Household’s full statement from Ingrid Alexandra read: ‘I’m looking forward to starting my studies at the University of Sydney.
‘It will be exciting to become a student, and I’m looking forward to gaining new perspectives on both European and international politics. I’m sure that I will learn a lot.’
Ingrid’s decision to move to Australia to continue her studies comes after Norway’s future queen embarked on military training at the Engineer Battalion in Brigade Nord – the only brigade of the Norwegian Army – last year.
While she is certainly adjusting to Australian party life, Ingrid appears to still be getting the hang of Aussie road rules.
She was spotted making a slight slip-up on Saturday when she and a female friend tried to hop into a waiting Uber from the wrong side.
Evidently used to left-hand drive vehicles, the princess was seen reaching for the door handle on the driver’s side.
