A young woman has blasted Anthony Albanese as a ‘wealthy Baby Boomer’ who has done ‘nothing’ to help Australians during an expletive-ridden rant.
Crystal, 24, shared a five-minute TikTok video asking why more Australians aren’t speaking out against the cost of living crisis crippling millions of households.Â
‘I’m pissed off because I don’t understand why Australians aren’t more pissed off than they should be,’ she said.
‘We’re voicing it to our family and friends and peers but we’re not actually doing anything to show our government that we’re angry about it.’
She said she was ‘raging’ at the fact she’s broke and has never been able to save any money despite working two or even three jobs for most of her adult life.
Crystal said she was ‘$10,000 in debt without a degree’ after failing her first year of study, which she blamed on full‑time work because Centrelink didn’t cover her rent.Â
The 24-year-old, who pays $425 a week to rent a granny flat in her landlord’s backyard, warned things were only going to get worse.
‘Interest rates go up. That means my rent is going to get put up even more and I can’t do s*** to stop that,’ she said. ‘Fuel prices, groceries, through the ceiling.

‘Albanese has got more priorities lying in every other country than he does for his own people in his country that he is in charge of helping and supporting and guiding.’
Crystal then took a dig at Baby Boomers.
‘And I’ll tell you why you’re laughing, Albo. Because you’re a Baby Boomer who is one of the wealthiest,’ she said.
‘The Baby Boomers are the wealthiest generation to exist. You know why? Because everything was f***ing peanuts when they bought it.
‘We have no chance and no hope of having any future. Albanese… you’ve done nothing to help any Australian.
‘I just don’t know why no-one else is angry about this man.’
The video has over 180,000 views and 880 comments as of Friday afternoon, with many Aussies sympathising with Crystal.Â
‘Nurse here, making just over $100,000 after 15 years of nursing. I live alone, so I pay rent and bills alone. I will never be able to afford my own place at this rate. But the government doesn’t care or know,’ one person said.

‘I’m losing my mind every day at this point for these exact reasons,’ another said.
‘Me and my partner combined make $140,000 a year with two kids and it’s not enough! We live in a private rental for $400 a week and only have to pay electricity and still can’t afford much and can’t save,’ a third said.
But others said it wasn’t simply a matter of getting a new leader.Â
‘Whilst I fully understand your frustrations, the answer is not as simple as change the PM, change the party. Capitalism has bought us here,’ one said.Â
‘Decades of capitalism, where the gap between rich and poor is just growing. There is not a simple answer to this problem – no matter who is elected, no matter how much we shout.’
‘Your anger is justified, but blaming Albo for structural issues in our economy that have existed for over 30 years is misdirected anger. It’s more complicated than “Albo should have fixed it”,’ another said.
Australia is home to 48 billionaires who hold more wealth than the bottom 40 per cent of the population combined, according to an Oxfam report released this year.
Chief executive Jennifer Tierney said the wealth divide has widened sharply since the pandemic, with more than 3.7million people now living in poverty.
