Prince William and Kate Middleton’s friends—apparently lacking anything else better to do—have come up with a rude/petty name for Meghan Markle’s popular lifestyle brand, As Ever.
According to sources in Bella Magazine (via the Daily Mail), friends of the couple call the brand “As If.” One insider said, “It’s caused quite a bit of laughter within the group. WhatsApp messages have been going back and forth. It’s all very budget and rushed. Embarrassing, really.”
The Duchess of Sussex’s brand has actually been immensely popular and shows no signs of slowing down. Like, As Ever’s first collection launched on April 2 and sold out in less than an hour. As Meghan put it on Instagram, “Our shelves may be empty, but my heart is full! We sold out in less than one hour and I can’t thank you enough…for celebrating, purchasing, sharing, and believing. It’s just the start.”
They sold out again in June, and Meghan wrote on Instagram Stories “We spent so much time making sure we had so much more inventory. That’s why we took the time, and you guys are doing it again. We’re nearly sold out on everything, and I can’t believe it.”
And while the Sussexes’ Netflix deal has reportedly ended, Meghan will still partner with the streamer on As Ever. As a source put it to Page Six, “They’re NOT done, they have plenty coming up together. I cannot imagine that Meghan and Netflix went into business together just for a year or two.”
