The upcoming Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix will be available free to viewers in the United States.
Apple TV, which took over the broadcasting rights for Formula 1 in the US from 2026, will make next weekend’s entire grand prix weekend live, with no subscription required.
That includes Friday’s practice sessions (07:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. ET), Saturday’s final practice session and qualifying (6:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.) and Sunday’s grand prix (9 a.m.)
Apple holds a five-year deal to broadcast Formula 1 in the US after replacing ESPN.
The company has already undertaken experiments to reach new spectators, holding watch-alongs at IMAX threaters, pushing the sport through its Apple News outlet, while the Canadian Grand Prix was available to watch on Netflix.
Formula 1 has been encouraged by the early feedback from Apple but the company has not yet publicly released its viewing figures.
