Damages, the “high-tension” legal thriller starring Glenn Close and Rose Byrne, has landed a new streaming home in the UK.
The series, which ran for five seasons between 2007 and 2012, sees Close portray Patty Hewes, a ruthless litigator based in New York City. Byrne plays her protégé Ellen Parsons, with the series depicting their complex relationship.
Though it may have ended over a decade ago, Damages is still regarded fondly by TV aficionados, and UK fans will soon be able to binge the legal drama again as all 59 episodes are coming to ITVX on 21 September.

“Damages is emphatically, and almost torturously, high-tension, and the pilot script is one of the most artfully crafted since the debut back in the 20th century of The Sopranos,” wrote The Washington Post of the debut episode.
Entertainment Weekly was also full of praise, writing: “Even during its most implausible moments, the Glenn Close legal drama has showcased several Emmy-worthy performances and delivered scads of wicked twists.”
“As slick, exciting and accomplished as you might expect. It was also, with all its characters brimming with self-confidence and endowed with remarkably good looks, totally implausible in every scene,” said The Daily Telegraph of the second season.

“Damages has so many twists and switcheroos, as paths cross and corners are turned, that you may feel travel-sick. It requires attention, but it’s worth it. If you’re a fan of legal battles fought to the death, you should take this case,” opined The Guardian.
While the legal thriller will be coming to ITVX later this month, the streamer recently confirmed that the first season of Station 19, the popular spin-off to Grey’s Anatomy, would be coming to its service on Wednesday (10 September).
