Tonight’s Big Brother has seen the four newcomers being tasked with a hard job that will directly affect Friday’s eviction.

The new season premiered on 28 September, seeing four new housemates being introduced on day 2.

Shortly after entering the UK’s most-watched house, the quartet were asked to give two Evil Eyes to two fellow housemates.

Following a brief chat their housemates, newcomers Cameron B, Feyisola, George and Richard were given the unenviable task of picking two contestants who would face elimination this week.

Big Brother warned the newcomers that their housemates had been informed of the Evil Eye task, with George commenting: “Let the arse-licking commence.”

The new contestants made an effort to try and speak with everyone in the house in light of their decision.

Reconvening later on, the quartet landed on three names, suggested by George — fan-favourite Zelah Glasson, Elsa Rae or Nancy Nocerino.

Once they’d decided on a name for their first Evil Eye, the four contestants were called into the Diary Room. Big Brother asked if it’d been an easy decision, to which Feyisola replied: “Absolutely not.”

George was then told to take the Evil Eye with him as he’d been picked to give it to the housemate they’d chosen.

Citing “a matter of process of elimination” as their reason, George gave the Evil Eye to Zelah.

As all other housemates looked around the room in shock, George said he knew that he would “come to regret that”.

“I completely understand. You have to pick someone so it’s nothing personal, guys,” Zelah said

Speaking to Big Brother in the Diary Room, Zelah said: “I kinda suspected it would be me.”

He admitted he had “contributed a little bit less to the dynamic”, explaining he was “an anxious human being”.

“Maybe my nervousness is holding me back a bit,” he conceded.

Fans have rushed to show their support to Zelah on social media, with one viewer writing on Instagram: “How could they choose Zelah, he’s amazing”.

“He didn’t deserve this at all, but he took it like a champ,” someone else commented, while a third person urged to “PROTECT ZELAH AT ALL COSTS”.

As the quartet has another Evil Eye to give, who will join Zelah and face eviction? Only one way to find out.

Big Brother airs at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
