Coronation Street may be preparing for its big crossover episode with fellow ITV soap Emmerdale, but the series has plenty of drama to offer before then. One such occasion is a wedding, and Weatherfield is gearing up for another one!
Following Bernie Winter and Dev Alahan’s ceremony in August, the next couple to tie the knot will be Debbie Webster and Ronnie Bailey, who recently rekindled their romance after a brief separation.

In various paparazzi photos from the set, we can see the characters enjoying the big day, with Debbie and Bernie looking particularly enthusiastic as they sit in the front of a golf buggy.
Other images depict Debbie’s brother Kevin, who is reeling from the breakdown of his marriage to Abi. Tyrone Dobbs, who is on the mend following a hit-and-run, is pictured on crutches, signifying an improvement in his health.

The wedding comes amid Debbie’s ongoing battle with dementia, with the storyline set to continue until 2027. From there, actor Sue Devaney will exit the soap, bringing an end to her stint on the series.
“Debbie’s got ages and ages,” said producer Kate Brooks of the storyline. “We’re not galloping our way through the story at all. We love Debbie. She is brilliant, so funny, so full of life and joy.
“There are so many stories that are happening around Debbie that are not dependent on her dementia. There are real family dramas that Debbie’s at the heart of. For Debbie, she’s enjoying life and making the most of it.

“She’s obviously planning for a big wedding with Ronnie, which will happen sometime towards the end of the year. It’s going to be a really gorgeous, joyful wedding. It’s very Debbie in its execution. It smacks of Debbie being lovable and a bit out there!
“Also, we’ll get to see the debut of the dementia choir that Debbie’s been so invested and involved in. She’s focusing on that because she wants to enjoy the time she has here. Debbie wants to enjoy her love for Ronnie.”
