Bookish’s Mark Gatiss has written plenty of Doctor Who episodes in his time, as well as starring in a few here and there, but there was one he wrote for David Tennant’s Tenth Doctor that never got released.
However, he’s now teased that it might still see the light of day, but in a different form.
Speaking to the Radio Times, the actor explained that he wrote an episode called ‘The Suicide Exhibition,’ which was “on the verge of production for a while in the late 2000s” but never came to fruition.
“[I wrote] two drafts – one set in the First World War, then Nazis,” he said. “I just moved a war on.”
He also stated that the story was set in the British Museum, and described it as “a sort of Indiana Jones-type story” that he thinks is “rather good”.

He’s not the only one who believes that the story has potential, and he teased: “Big Finish has expressed an interest.”
While he says he still has a copy of the story, things have “all gone very quiet” on the Big Finish discussion front. “I’m waiting for that emergency phone call!” he added.
To be fair to Big Finish, the audio drama makers have plenty of Doctor Who projects already in the pipeline.
