Emmerdale spoilers follow from Tuesday’s episode (18 November), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.

Emmerdale’s Charity Dingle makes a new desperate move tonight as she tries to sabotage her husband Mackenzie’s new bond with Ross Barton. Can she drive a wedge between them by sending a new friend Mack’s way?

Viewers have seen Charity become increasingly alarmed over the past few weeks, as Mack and Ross have grown unexpectedly close. With Mack even boasting that he and Ross now tell each other everything, Charity fears that it’s only a matter of time before her scandalous secrets unravel.

Charity betrayed Mack by sleeping with Ross earlier this year. She’s now carrying Ross’s baby – and passing off Sarah Sugden and Jacob Gallagher as the parents after their previous surrogacy agreement.

While Ross has been fooled into believing Charity’s lies over the baby’s paternity, he could still spill the beans over his recent passion with Charity at any time – and potentially bring down the whole house of cards in the process…

In tonight’s episode, Charity seizes her chance as Ross is currently away from the village, paying a visit to his older brother Pete.

Cornering Liam Cavanagh at The Woolpack, Charity suggests that he should ask Mack out for a beer. Liam instantly shuts the idea down, insisting that they don’t have anything in common.

Later, persistent Charity strikes again by floating the idea of Mack and Liam regularly attending football matches or monster truck events together.

A baffled Liam points out: “Charity, I’m getting the sense that you’re trying to force a friendship between me and your husband.”

Charity replies: “He can’t just rely on Ross to be friends. I want him to have different people around him.

“You’re very funny, you’re a very decent bloke, and this could win you points with Chas.”

Will Charity get her way – or will this be another scheme that’s doomed to fail?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
