Emmerdale spoilers follow from Wednesday’s episode (19 November), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.

Emmerdale’s Kev Townsend makes another desperate plan to win back Robert Sugden tonight – and Robert’s sister Victoria finds herself drawn into the messy situation. When Kev realises that Robert and Victoria both need his financial help, he can’t resist swooping in to save the day.

Kev is determined to make things work with Robert, who recently insisted that it was time to end their relationship. Still believing that Kev is terminally ill, Robert has promised to be there for him “at the end” – but can offer nothing more.

Sadly, Kev has other ideas – and now that publicly serenading Robert at a house party didn’t work out, it’s time to change tactics…

In tonight’s episode, Kev pays a visit to Robert and Victoria’s place and finds out that Vic is searching for a second-hand drum mower to help with the farm.

Victoria is struggling to find an affordable option, so the cheapest she can track down is one for £2,000.

Kev generously offers to give Victoria the money – either as a gift or a loan – leaving her feeling very uncomfortable over how the ex-convict is still being deceived by Robert.

Before long, Robert and Victoria find themselves locked in a dilemma over the cash. Will Robert be giving Kev false hope if he accepts the money? And what will Aaron Dingle – Robert’s true love – make of it all?

“I know why you’re doing this. It won’t change anything,” Robert insists when he catches up with Kev at the cafe.

Kev replies: “I’m giving you that money out of the goodness of my heart – and yeah, alright, maybe it is a way of apologising about last night. I didn’t mean to embarrass you and I certainly didn’t mean to embarrass myself.

“But if you’re in trouble then I can help, so why wouldn’t I?”

Later, Kev is seen back home at Charles and Claudette’s place, clutching a handgun as he plots his next move. Are things about to spiral even further out of control?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
