Strictly Come Dancing favourite La Voix has just been cast in a project that fans are calling “epic”. The RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season 6 runner-up, who withdrew from Strictly due to an injury earlier this month, is taking to the stage in a beloved musical adaption.

La Voix is set to play the role of villain Miss Hannigan in Annie during the musical’s UK and Ireland tour, which kicks off in May next year.

The red-headed drag queen will star as the tyrannical Miss H in performances across five venues, including the New Wimbledon Theatre in May, and the Palace Theatre in Manchester in June.

Further casting will be announced in due course.

Fans couldn’t contain their excitement when the production confirmed La Voix would star as Miss H after previously teasing a new actor would take on the role. On Instagram, one person called the project “EPIC”, while another wrote: “The REAL red head has entered the chat!”

“la voix is taking over the world and i’m here for it,” was another fan’s response to the casting announcement.

“Absolutely major casting!! Congratulations,” someone else offered, as a fan called the news “exciting”.

“Mother of the year, with a capital M,” someone else wrote.

If you can’t wait until next year to see La Voix on stage, the queen will star alongside Scott Mills in a Christmas pants this festive season.

Previously announced as “a giant pantomime adventure”, Jack and the Beanstalk will run between 12 December and 4 January at the Wycombe Swan Theatre in High Wycombe.

Earlier in November, La Voix announced she and Strictly pro partner Aljaž Å korjanec wouldn’t perform during Blackpool week, saying: “It is with immense sadness that I have to withdraw from this weekend’s Strictly Come Dancing shows in Blackpool.

“Due to an injury, I’ve been advised that I’m unable to perform, and my heart truly breaks knowing I won’t be dancing in such an iconic venue. Aljaž and I have worked incredibly hard, and we were so excited to share our routine with everyone.”

“I am devastated not to be joining the rest of the cast on that famous dancefloor, but my focus now is on recovery. I’ll be cheering on all the amazing couples this weekend,” added the star.

The UK and Ireland tour of musical Annie starts on 23 May 2026. More information and tour dates can be found here.
