EastEnders spoilers follow for Thursday’s episode (15 January), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders has finally confirmed who killed Anthony Trueman on Christmas Day last year. Zoe Slater is currently in prison, charged with her ex’s murder, while Kat Moon is in Corfu searching for Chrissie Watts, who she believes to be responsible. But now viewers discover who really committed the crime…

This week, Patrick was told by the funeral director that he would soon be able to view his son’s body. He decided to make amends with his granddaughter Jasmine, but she made a quick exit when talk turned to Anthony’s funeral arrangements.

Jasmine was spooked when Denise invited her to visit Anthony with the family, so she started drinking and took her anger out on Oscar when he tried to speak to her.

In today’s episode, Oscar left Jasmine a worried voicemail, having not heard from her since yesterday. But Jasmine was soon spotted when she returned to Walford on the back of a milk truck, still drunk from the night before.

Desperate to keep Patrick in the dark about Jasmine going off the rails, Yolande found her in the café and vowed to sober her up – but Jasmine ran off again.

As Jasmine looked at a mysterious video on her phone, she struck up a flirty conversation with Zack. Chelsea steered her away and begged her to stop treating Patrick badly.

When Jasmine said that she didn’t fit in the family, Chelsea accidentally revealed that Anthony was no saint. With Chelsea refusing to elaborate, Jasmine stormed over to No.20 to confront the whole family about Anthony.

Patrick admitted the truth about his son, telling Jasmine that Anthony was controlling, that his ex-wife took out a restraining order against her and the kids, and that he was obsessed with Zoe.

Jasmine was furious with everyone and headed to the café, but Patrick followed her to explain more about Anthony. He said that despite his son’s behaviour, he still believed that Anthony was a good man.

As a result, Jasmine changed her mind decided to join the family to visit Anthony at the chapel of rest. They all said their emotional goodbyes, but Jasmine asked to have a moment alone with her late dad.

Once she was in private, Jasmine’s mood changed. She pulled out her phone and showed Anthony’s body the video she took on Christmas Day.

The revealing clip showed Jasmine filming Anthony attacking Zoe in The Vic, before an angry confrontation that ended with Anthony falling to the floor dead – with Jasmine having killed him.

“You could have killed her,” Jasmine told Anthony. “But I stopped you. It’s nice to finally meet you, dad. Now rot in hell.”

Will Jasmine’s crime ever be exposed, and can she help her mum get out of prison?
