TWG Artificial Intelligence has formally entered Formula 1 through a strategic partnership with the Cadillac-backed Formula 1 programme, reinforcing the project’s technology-first approach as it builds toward entry into the Formula One World Championship.
The collaboration positions TWG Artificial Intelligence, part of TWG Global, as a core technical partner for the Cadillac Formula 1 team being developed by Andretti Global, with full works support from General Motors under the Cadillac brand.
Under the agreement, TWG AI will deliver advanced data science and artificial intelligence capabilities across key performance and operational domains. These include vehicle simulation, aerodynamic correlation between digital and physical testing, race strategy modelling, manufacturing and logistics optimisation, and driver performance analysis.
Graeme Lowdon, Team Principal, Cadillac Formula 1 Team, said, “Starting a Formula 1 team from scratch creates a rare opportunity to be intentional.“Rather than inheriting legacy systems, we can design the right foundations from the outset. TWG AI’s approach aligns with that philosophy – building deliberately, testing rigorously, and planning for long-term performance.”
Dan Towriss, CEO of Cadillac Formula 1 Team Holdings LLC, added, “We’re proud to welcome TWG AI as our first primary partner. From day one, we’ve set out to build a team designed for the future of the sport, combining engineering excellence with intelligent systems and long-term thinking. TWG AI shares that approach, and their technology will be embedded in how we operate day to day, helping us make faster, smarter decisions, extract performance at every level, and set a new benchmark for how a modern Formula 1 team is built.”
The partnership is structured to embed artificial intelligence into the team’s decision-making processes from inception, allowing Cadillac Formula 1 to develop as an AI-native organisation rather than retrofitting advanced tools into established workflows. By integrating machine learning and predictive analytics across car development, race operations, and organisational planning, the project aims to accelerate learning cycles while operating within Formula 1’s cost cap framework.
The initiative reflects the broader strategy behind the Cadillac Formula 1 entry, which combines General Motors’ engineering scale, Andretti Global’s motorsport expertise, and TWG Global’s investment and technology capabilities. Together, the partners are seeking to establish a data-driven Formula 1 organisation built for efficiency, adaptability, and sustained competitiveness.
As Formula 1 continues to evolve into a championship shaped by marginal gains and advanced analytics, the early and comprehensive integration of artificial intelligence is expected to play a defining role in Cadillac’s long-term ambitions. The partnership highlights the growing importance of technology-led team structures in shaping the next phase of the sport.
