Next week on Casualty, Jacob is outraged when Ashley accuses his son Blake of a serious crime. Meanwhile, Dylan reaches breaking point as he conceals a life-changing secret from Matty, and Siobhan gets upsetting news about her case.
Here is our round-up of all the biggest moments coming up next week, in the latest episode of the current boxset, ‘Learning Curve’.
1. Ashley returns to work
BBC
Police officer, and Teddy’s girlfriend, Ashley returns to work after getting stabbed on a callout.
On her first day back since being injured, she joins Teddy and Jacob as they find an upturned car in the woods. The driver has been impaled, while a girl is found in the boot of the vehicle – and the team believe she has been kidnapped.
2. Dylan hits breaking point
BBC
As Flynn gets word that the CQC are returning to reinspect the department next week, he is especially harsh with Matty – but Kim reassures her colleague that Dylan has his back. But Dylan is deliberately cold towards Matty during the shift, concerned about the care he showed to him when the training exercise went wrong.
Matty asks Dylan if he has done something wrong, and fears that his mentor has lost respect for him since the simulation. With Dylan pushed to the limit by the young resident, will he be forced to admit that he is Matty’s father?

3. Jacob’s son is targeted
BBC
Ashley responds to a call about a mugger who has attacked multiple people. She heads out and spots a jogging man, who she believes matches the description she was given – but she discovers that the man is Jacob’s son Blake, who is out running with his dad.
Despite Jacob’s explanation about his vulnerable son, Ashley insists on searching Blake. Will he be arrested for a crime he didn’t commit?
4. Siobhan gets bad news
BBC
Siobhan is given a disappointing update about her case by DI Hughes, who explains that they have a lack of DNA which means they have been unable to make a positive ID of her rapist.
She digests this news as she returns to work, and while she assures Flynn that she is fine, this latest blow affects Siobhan more than she is letting on.
5. Iain feels guilty
BBC
Faith tells Iain that she went to see him at Jacob’s house, but he wasn’t in – however, Iain is hiding that he slept with a woman he met in a club that night.
When Faith says she agrees that getting back together is a good idea, Iain’s guilt about his actions continues to rise. Will Iain be honest with Faith?
