EastEnders spoilers follow for Wednesday’s episode (18 February), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.
EastEnders has confirmed which character finds the crucial evidence that could help stop Jasmine Fisher going down for Anthony Trueman’s murder. After a number of twists in this killer plot, could she be given a lifeline by an unlikely source?
This week, Jasmine confessed to Kat that she killed Anthony in self-defence on Christmas Day. Despite promising that she wouldn’t grass her up, Kat called the police and Jasmine was arrested for murder.
Kat went to see Zoe in prison in today’s episode and broke the news that it was Jasmine who killed Anthony, not Chrissie.
Meanwhile, Jasmine continued to explain to the police what happened that night, insisting that she was trying to save herself and Zoe. Jasmine urged them to watch the footage on her phone, but the device was lost after she left her bag in The Vic.

Zoe was convinced that Jasmine was lying and demanded to speak to Ritchie. She claimed to be responsible to protect her daughter, but Jasmine’s confession and the fact the police had the murder weapon meant there was nothing Zoe could do.
Back in the Square, Max and Cindy attempted to advise Oscar, who was heartbroken over Jasmine’s lies. When Jasmine phoned him from the interview room, Oscar was furious that she was only calling so he would help find her phone.
Oscar was consoled by Max, who made it clear that Jasmine had used him, and he visited Patrick and Yolande as he struggled to come to terms with the end of his relationship.

As Jasmine was charged with murder, Zoe was released from prison and Kat was overjoyed to welcome her back to Walford.
But Zoe wasn’t happy when Kat revealed that it was her who called the police on Jasmine. She began searching for Jasmine’s bag in the pub to track down the important evidence, but Kat explained that Tracey found the bag – with the phone missing.
Zoe refused to give up on her daughter and wondered where the missing phone was. But viewers then discovered that it was Max who had secretly taken the device.

Oscar had previously revealed that Jasmine’s password was his birthday, so Max was able to unlock the phone and watch the video of Anthony’s death. We know that Max has been keen to get Jasmine away from Oscar, so what will he decide to do with this all-important evidence?
