Emmerdale spoilers follow.
It’s confession time for Emmerdale’s Arthur Thomas next week, as he tells his sister Gabby that he shoved Laurel on the stairs at Mulberry Cottage. Will telling the truth bring more destruction for the fractured family?
The troubled teen has been wrestling with his conscience ever since the violent incident between him and Laurel at home. As the consequences continue next week, Gabby is shocked to hear the truth…
“Arthur’s guilt has finally pushed him over the edge, and he feels unable to keep his dark deed a secret for a moment longer,” our Emmerdale source explains.
“He hopes that coming clean to Gabby will help him come to terms with what he’s done, as he fears that his relationship with his mum is beyond repair.”

At the beginning of the week, Laurel confides in her best friend Nicola King about her woes. Meanwhile, struggling Arthur rejects his ex-stepdad Jai Sharma’s offer of a new job at the depot.
“Arthur has to stop punishing himself for his bad behaviour and try to rebuild his relationship with his mum,” our spy continues. “Taking on some responsibility at the depot could be just the thing to prove to Laurel that he’s turning over a new leaf.”
Concerned about Laurel’s wellbeing, Gabby decides to talk to her brother about how Laurel is doing following her medical check-up with Manpreet.
Unable to bear the heavy load of his guilt for causing Laurel’s lasting health issues, remorseful Arthur finally admits that he pushed his mum, causing her to hit her head on the stairs.

“Arthur has been bottling this up for weeks, so it’s likely that he feels better for confiding in his big sister,” our insider predicts.
“Since Gabby is a mother herself and has had plenty of her own ups and downs with Laurel, Arthur probably hopes that she can offer him some sage advice on how he should go about repairing his tattered relationship with his own mum.”
Later, Gabby chats to Arthur once again, this time to provide him with a new strategy for how to move forward. Will she be able to help Laurel and Arthur fix their ruined relationship? Or is it too little, too late for them?
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
