Lifestyle diseases are beginning earlier than ever. Poor diets, endless screen time, chronic stress and lack of physical activity are taking a toll long before middle age.

Dr Gomber believes young people should embrace yoga early, “It would be best if the younger generation started following yoga in their everyday routine. In most cases, lifestyle diseases don’t occur suddenly but start taking shape during one’s teenage years or early adult years due to unhealthy eating habits, insufficient sleep, long periods of sitting, and accumulated stress which ultimately results in obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.”

He added, “The risks posed by unhealthy habits can be minimized considerably if people adopt healthy behaviors early in life. The practice of yoga will help young people achieve focus in their activities and develop sound physical and mental well-being. This will prepare them for future success in maintaining their health and wellness.”

This isn’t about mastering advanced poses. Even simple stretches, breathing exercises and mindful movements can help create a routine that lasts. After all, habits built in youth often become the foundation of health later in life.
