Emmerdale’s April Windsor suggests that her boyfriend Dylan Penders should see a counsellor next week. The teen encourages Dylan after he opens up about how he’s been struggling with his mental health.
On the surface, Dylan appears to have his life back on track after everything that wicked Ray Walters and Celia Daniels put him through, and is flourishing now he’s working up at Caleb Miligan’s depot.

But when he breaks down to April during a rare moment of vulnerability, she can tell he needs some extra support…
“Dylan’s been an absolute rock for April, now it’s time for her to be there for him,” points out our village informant. “Dylan’s always been the type of guy to put on a brave front, so it takes a lot for him to finally open up to April and admit he’s not been coping.
“When she suggests he consider reaching out to a counsellor, it gives Dylan food for thought.”
April’s not the only one Dylan confides in, though. He also seeks out support from Bear Wolf, who he knows was put through the wringer thanks to Ray and Celia’s vile operations.
Having seen the benefits of therapy first hand, Bear is a big advocate of talking to a professional, and agrees with April that Dylan could benefit from the same kind of help.
Having taken the first step and opened up to his loved ones about how he feels, will Dylan be strong enough to make the next move and reach out to a therapist for help?

Whatever happens, it seems that we can expect positive vibes for Dylan and April in the long-run following their difficult year.
Speaking to Inside Soap in the spring, Emmerdale’s producer Laura Shaw commented: “Marlon, Rhona and April are always going to be affected by everything that’s happened. It’s going to have long-lasting effects, but I think I’d like to see April and Dylan happy for a little while now.
“I feel like they’ve had their fair share of drama, so hopefully there’s some happiness on the horizon for those two now. Both of those brilliantly talented young actors have done amazingly well.”
