Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street has confirmed Nina Lucas’s final storyline, ahead of her upcoming departure from the soap. The character will be leaving Weatherfield this summer, after seven years on our screens.
Fortunately for fans, Nina isn’t being killed off as she makes her exit. Instead, the waitress will bid farewell to her loved ones, before heading off in pursuit of a new adventure.

Last month saw Nina making a big change as she and her ex Asha Alahan decided to move in together. Though they were certain their past romance wouldn’t be a problem, Asha’s new relationship soon sparked accusations of jealousy.
Following an embarrassing mix-up, Nina received some harsh words about the stagnancy in her life, and upcoming episodes see her seeking out a new challenge.
In scenes that air on Friday 21 August, Nina returns from a job interview in Whitby with a disappointing update. She tells Roy Cropper that the interview went really badly, and she won’t be hearing from them any time soon.
Later, Nina is shocked to receive a message from Ruby at the art gallery, offering her the job. How will Roy react to his niece’s departure?

“Nina’s been inspired to start moving forward with her life,” notes our Corrie source. “Asha recently gave her some home truths, pointing out that she was obsessing with her ex’s new relationship rather than focusing on her own life!
“The new job gives Nina the opportunity for a fresh start – and also leaves the door open for her to pop in and see Roy again in the future.”
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
