Emmerdale fans can expect answers next week after speculation about DS Thea Ramsden’s hidden agenda.
The ITV soap has already revealed that Ramsden and Serena Sugden are in cahoots to bring down the Tate family – but the reasons why have remained unclear.

Now show bosses are promising further revelations to come, as DS Ramsden continues to abuse her position within the police to plot and scheme.
In tense scenes, Ramsden confides in Serena about the next stage of her plan.
Serena is taken aback by what her friend tells her – is she already starting to have second thoughts about what’s going on?
“We know that Serena is a loyal friend and eager to help those that are close to her,” teases our Emmerdale source. “But she also needs to be careful – she’s been doubted by her family in the past after keeping secrets, and helping Ramsden means the potential is there for history to repeat itself!”
Later, Ramsden takes charge in a police interview room in the wake of the catastrophe that took place on Dawn Fletcher and Joe Tate’s wedding day.

As she questions one of the villagers, it seems that Ramsden is secretly relishing the emotional pain that she’s inflicting on the person who’s in the hot seat.
“It’s at this point that a key flashback scene airs,” confirms our insider. “Details are under wraps for now, but it reveals that there’s way more to this dynamic than anyone could have guessed!”
Emmerdale newcomer Casey Al-Shaqsy, who plays Serena, recently spoke about her character’s divided loyalties as she does Ramsden’s bidding.
We’ve already seen Serena snooping around Home Farm on Ramsden’s behalf, hoping to help her friend with a secret mission to gather information.
“We can’t get into why Thea is doing it yet,” Casey explained. “It wasn’t Serena’s choice to keep all of this a secret. Thea is the one who’s saying that people can’t know about their connection.
“This is making Serena’s life very difficult! There are going to be trials and tribulations between them both because it’s putting Serena in such an awkward position.”
