EastEnders’ Kim Fox readies herself for the wedding of the century next week – but with her sister Denise still desperately ill in hospital, will the bride get the big day she’s dreamed of?
Despite having her perfect man by her side, Kim is heartbroken as she prepares to say her vows, knowing that there’s one key person missing from the celebrations.

Can her groom Howie pull off a miracle, and make sure that Denise doesn’t miss out on the most important day of her sister’s life?
“Even though Kim is very happy that she is getting married, she does want her sister there,” reveals Tameka Empson, who plays the bride. “You only get one wedding day, so by hook or by crook, she’s getting Denise involved in her wedding. She will be a part of it!”
With Denise too poorly to attend the big day, Kim’s lost without her moral support on the morning of the wedding. But being the dream husband-to-be that he is, Howie organises a special surprise to lift Kim’s spirits…
It’s not far from their house to the wedding venue, Walford community centre – however, Kim’s still determined to make a glamorous entrance! So as friends and family gather in the Square to see her beautiful dress, a stunning horse arrives to take her to the venue in style.

At the venue, Kim is visibly moved to see Denise on a video link wearing her Sister of the Bride T-shirt. Knowing his future wife won’t be able to say “I do” without her sister there, Howie wants to make sure Denise is still a big part of proceedings.
Seeing Kim so upset to be away from Denise on the most important day of her life, Howie arranges a last-minute change of plan. It might not be the celebration they originally wanted, but as Kim and Howie rush to the hospital, Kim knows the moment will be more special with Denise by her side.
“Kim decides to incorporate her sister in a way that you wouldn’t think possible – and because it’s Kim, she’s breaking the barriers,” declares Tameka, who has played Kim since 2009.
“She doesn’t want to let her family down, and I think people will appreciate her efforts. Kim has tackled Denise’s illness in a very positive way, she’s been forced to grow up a little bit,” she adds.
As Kim and Howie say their vows by Denise’s hospital bed, the joyful moment is witnessed through the window by all their friends and family. It soon becomes a double celebration, as the doctor arrives and reveals that they’ve found a provisional stem-cell match for Denise!

With Denise needing a rest after all the excitement, Kim and Howie head back to the community centre to continue the party. However, they’re shocked when they arrive at the venue.
They find Ryder and Jodie helping themselves to the booze – when they’re not even invited! While the wedding party ends up clinking glasses at the Vic, Kim charges round to Harry’s Barn to give Ned and Gemma a piece of her mind!
