Emmerdale fans have issued a big question for actor Chris Coghill regarding his character Kev after the star shared a big career update outside of the soap. The character, the estranged husband of Robert Sugden, was last seen in the Dales in the New Year, having initially teamed up with John – though he didn’t follow through with the villain’s plans and warned Aaron about the danger he was in.

He was also given an ultimatum by Nicola to tell Lewis Barton the truth that he’s his father. Instead, he decided instead to walk away, believing that his still-unaware son was better off without him.

Chris has now confirmed a role in film Synthesized, where he will take on the role of Odin. In an Instagram comment accompanying a promo still, he wrote: “World Premiere alert. Friday 27th March. Home cinema. God’s Country.”

However, some fans were quick to question whether Chris would be back on the ITV soap.

“When is King Kev coming back,” one fan asked.

“Are you ever coming back? Team Kev,” another added, while a third wrote: “Come back to Emmerdale.”

Many other fans shared their support for Chris’s new project, including on-screen son Bradley Riches – who plays Lewis – who beamed: “PROUD OF U.”

This isn’t the first time fans have demanded a comeback, with many expressing hope to see Kev again following his brief comeback over the festive period.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
