Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street’s Summer Spellman is on a mission next week to uncover who was really responsible for Billy Mayhew’s tragic death. Viewers know that evil Theo Silverton left Billy to die in the crash during January’s Corriedale crossover.

Summer and Theo’s husband Todd are unaware of his vile actions and with Debbie Webster accepting full blame for the crash it felt like the case was closed.

But as Debbie has been released from prison, Summer begins to hear whispers about who was really responsible, with Abi Webster hinting that Debbie may not have been the one driving at the time of the crash.

In scenes to air next Wednesday (April 7) Summer joins Amy, Asha and Nina for cocktails at Chariot Square.

When Summer sees Debbie enter, she leaves her friends and decides to confront her over the crash.

Summer asks Debbie if there’s something she’s not telling her about crash, and Debbie says she knows everything and there’s no point going over it again and again.

But Summer pushes further and accuses Debbie of hiding something, before outright asking if Carl was the person driving, leaving Debbie flustered.

Further spoilers have revealed that Summer will confront Carl but he will tell her to look closer to home for Billy’s real killer.

Fans will know that Carl overheard Theo speaking to Billy’s body in the funeral parlour and admitting to leaving him to die in the crash.

However Carl has kept Theo’s dark secret, after some of his own where uncovered.

Recent weeks have seen Todd’s friends George, Gary and Summer become increasingly worried over his relationship with Theo.

While Todd has told his friends there’s no abuse going on, the newly married couple are now planning a move to Belfast for Theo’s job.

Will Summer be able to expose Theo as a killer before he takes Todd away from his friends for good?

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
