EastEnders spoilers follow for Thursday’s episode (9 April), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders has revealed the jury’s verdict in Jasmine’s Fisher’s trial for the murder of her biological dad Anthony Trueman. Things haven’t looked too good for Jasmine this week, as despite arguing she killed Anthony in self-defence, damning statements from Patrick and Kat cast doubt on this story.

Kat felt bad about faltering on the stand and persuaded Jasmine to stick with her not guilty plea and to give her side of the story. Jasmine faced tough questions from the prosecution though and, afterwards, the jury didn’t take too long to reach a verdict.

Viewers were left on a cliffhanger as Jasmine’s fate was left up in the air. But in today’s episode, it was confirmed she’d been found not guilty of murder – to the delight of the Slaters and the horror of the Truemans.

Jasmine was officially released from prison and returned to Walford with her family. Kat was keen to make amends with Jasmine, but she initially snubbed her grandmother and went home with Zoe and Mo.

As Jasmine passionately reunited with Oscar in the Square, the Truemans discussed their next steps. Josh prepared to move to Southend with Sandra but agreed to go to a drink with his new family beforehand.

The Truemans sat away from the Slaters at The Vic as tensions flared between the two families. Kat grew tired of the awkwardness, so she made an impassioned speech to the entire pub in defence of Jasmine and then offered her granddaughter a job – with three generations of Slater women behind the bar.

With Yolande keen to move forward with Jasmine, Josh reached out to his sister and told her he was moving away soon. The twins finally had a proper chat about the past and Jasmine explained the events of the car crash, when as a child, she watched their foster dad Keith die.

Josh comforted Jasmine as she broke down in tears while recounting harrowing details that she had always wanted to shield her twin brother from.

Later, Josh met Sandra in McKlunky’s and she told him she knew wanted to stay in Walford instead of moving to Southend, so revealed she’d arranged for him to stay with the Truemans permanently.

Spotting this loving chat, Jasmine confronted her former foster mum about why she hates her. Sandra eventually agreed to listen, and Jasmine opened up about how hurt she was by the events following Keith’s death.

The pair started having an honest conversation about grief and Sandra apologised for her actions before leaving Walford for good.

Kat approached this confrontation and promised Jasmine she would never let her go – even officially naming her Jasmine Slater.

With Sandra gone, how will both Jasmine and Josh settle into Albert Square?
