Billy Fletcher has made a big accusation after Caleb Miligan suggested it was Joe Tate who’d attacked him in new scenes of Emmerdale.
Last week, the ITV soap aired a cliffhanger for Billy, who was left for dead on the floor of the depot by a mysterious assailant. Billy sustained a nasty brain injury and was put in a coma, but he was brought out in today’s (6 August) episode.

Joe was questioned by the police, but was let go for lack of evidence. In new scenes, Caleb spotted Joe pressing Billy’s doctor for information about what he could remember about the attack.
Paying his employee a visit later on, Caleb came clean about telling Joe that Billy and Dawn had kissed to “put him in his place” after Joe threatened to expose his dodgy dealings at the depot.
While the two exes only almost locked lips, Joe had a furious reaction to Caleb taunting him and said that Billy should “watch his back”.
As Caleb admitted feeling “terrible” for putting Billy in the firing line with Joe, Dawn’s fiancé stopped by.

A visibly tense Caleb left Joe and Billy on their own. In an open conversation, Billy said that he’d kissed Dawn, with Joe replying that he knew and it didn’t bother him.
“You’re always gonna have feelings for Dawn, I get that,” Joe said, adding that he and Dawn discussed the kiss as “a pretty one-sided thing”.
When Joe told Billy to focus on getting better, he replied: “You’re a bigger man than me.”

In the final scenes, Billy asked Dawn to come see him but pleaded with her not to tell Joe.
“Can I trust you?” Billy began as Dawn grew worried. Before she could call a doctor, Billy asked his ex to listen.
“It was him. Joe put me in here,” he said, adding to Dawn: “I need you to wake up.”
