Emmerdale’s Mackenzie Boyd tries to draw a line under his feud with Ross Barton next week – but can they ever be pals again?
The pair’s unlikely friendship was shattered two months ago, when Mack found out the shocking truth about Ross fathering baby Leyla with Charity.

Mack initially played the long game by keeping quiet around Ross after his wife Charity had confessed all. However, when tensions reached boiling point, he confronted Ross and sparked a deadly showdown in a deserted barn.
While Mack and Ross have since been staying out of each other’s way, they come together next week for an important chat.
“Mack has realised that it’s time for a truce,” explains our village source. “Nobody needs to see him clashing with Ross every five minutes – least of all Charity, who’s been through enough in the past few months.
“There’s also the fact that Ross is Moses’s father and they’ll need to keep things cordial for the sake of the young boy. But of course, forgetting the past won’t be easy for Mack…”
When Ross pays a visit to Mack and Charity’s place, it gives Mack an opportunity to lay out his terms.

Ross is hopeful that he and Mack can be friends again in the future, but is that what Mack has in mind?
“A truce is one thing but a friendship might be another matter entirely,” teases our insider. “Fans will have to tune in to find out whether Mack is ready to rekindle their bromance, or if he just wants to drop hostilities, keep things civil and leave things there.
“Ross has always pointed out that he wasn’t friends with Mack at the time that he slept with Charity, so there was never any big betrayal of their connection. But from Mack’s side, he can’t believe that Ross pursued a friendship with him while harbouring such a big secret.”
The scenes come as Charity continues to fear the consequences after agreeing with Sarah Sugden that she’d take the blame for Dr Todd’s death.
An end to Mack and Ross’s battles will be one problem solved, but what does the future hold for Charity in the long run?
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
