A new Accessible Apprenticeship Programme will offer tailored employment support to 10 graduates facing barriers to employment or long-term health condition. It will be delivered by the Lisburn & Castlereagh Labour Market Partnership, to support recent graduates from the area return to work or start a new career. Â
The Lisburn & Castlereagh Labour Market Partnership programme is funded by the Department for Communities. Labour Market Partnerships create targeted employment action plans for council areas, allowing for collaboration at local and regional level to support people towards and into work.Â
Councillor Claire Kemp, Regeneration & Growth Chair said: “We are delighted to introduce the Accessible Apprenticeship Programme, which exemplifies our commitment to ensuring no one is left behind in the world of work. Graduates with disabilities bring unique skills and perspectives that enrich our local economy and community.Â
“By providing tailored support and working closely with employers who embrace inclusivity, this programme opens doors to rewarding career opportunities. We are excited to see how the participants will grow, contribute, and inspire others to pursue their ambitions.”Â
The Accessible Apprenticeship Programme offers tailored support, including skills development, career mentoring, and direct engagement with inclusive employers who value diversity in their workforce. By fostering confidence and practical work experience, the programme empowers graduates to achieve their full potential and thrive in the local job market.Â
