With a herd of four pedigree Limousin cows, the Davis brothers from Co Longford have proved that quality counts, securing sales of up to €30,000 for cattle that are attracting buyers from abroad and winning rosettes at shows nationwide.

For the past 30 years, Martin and his brother, Gerry, have been breeding pedigree Limousins under the Castlebrock prefix on their third-generation farm in Co Longford. Alongside their pedigree herd, they also farm 30 Limousin-cross commercial cows, with weanlings sold in their local mart in Granard.
