The City of Little Rock highlighted economic development and “record-breaking” employment numbers with 380,000 people working in Little Rock.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott Jr. and city leaders highlighted recent economic growth this week during a conference where the city showcased new developments and future plans.

During the showcase, the City of Little Rock highlighted several milestones that the community has attained recently — this included “record-breaking” employment numbers with 380,000 people working in Little Rock.

Scott championed the achievement by saying the Little Rock metro area is “setting the bar even higher for job creation and progress.” He credited the economic growth because the city has embraced “innovation, investment, intentionality and strong partnerships.”

City leaders also put an emphasis on new construction in the area, which they said is contributing to job opportunities and has consequently put the State of Arkansas in an advantageous position for global competition.

“Everyday our Little Rock team competes on a global stage to attract projects, talent, and investment,” said Pulaski County Judge Barry Hyde. “By presenting a region that’s a unified brand, with a wide array of community choices, we strengthen out position as a global competitive market.”

The discussion that took place this week on Tuesday was led by Mayor Scott and Judge Hyde, with both also highlighting thousands of dollars in investments that are expected to grow for the city.
