It’s no secret that the women of Ireland are waiting much longer to embark on the journey of motherhood for the first time.

Recent data from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) shows the average age of motherhood in Ireland is 33.2, while births from women aged 45 and over jumped by 80.5pc between 2013 and 2023 (rising from 226 in 2013 to 408 in 2023).
