At first, I was a bit skeptical of all the hype around NAD+.

Science believes NAD+ levels decline with age, though the process isn’t fully understood. And these days, supplementation is very popular. I’d seen the Hollywood buzz around NAD+ drips and pills for longevity and read some of the research, but still — I wasn’t entirely convinced.

Research suggests NAD+ precursors may support cellular health, including mitochondrial function and energy production. But the results aren’t always promising. A recent study found no meaningful benefits for people with early-stage Parkinson’s disease, which disappointed some researchers who had hoped the treatment might offer a breakthrough.

I’d tried NAD+ before and noticed some immune-related benefits, but I’ve never been a fan of pills. So when I came across Tru Niagen’s popular stick packs, which sells for just under $60 on Amazon, I figured I’d give it a shot. I also doubled my daily dose to 600 mg — and within a couple of weeks, I noticed the difference.

NAD+ hasn’t made me look younger (I’m 26, after all, so I wasn’t really expecting a miracle), but I have noticed other perks. After getting home home from work, I’ve found I have loads more energy. Enough to hit the gym, chase my toddler around the park and still have the stamina to build (and destroy) her LEGO creations with her — while totally losing track of time. In other words, I actually feel like a kid again.

I’ve also been sleeping better, dreaming more and feeling less wound up. Whether it’s the supplement or a placebo effect is hard to say, but the shift feels real.

Tru Niagen Tru Niagen

Each Tru Niagen stick delivers 300 mg of patented nicotinamide riboside (NR), a well-researched and highly absorbable NAD+ precursor that the body uses to produce NAD+ at the cellular level.

A head-to-head clinical study comparing NR with NMN found that Tru Niagen increased blood NAD+ levels by 161%, compared with 69% for NMN. Additionally, Tru Niagen has been clinically shown to increase NAD+ levels by up to 150% in just three weeks.

Beyond the clinical research, users have echoed many of the same benefits I’ve experienced. “I’ve been taking it for a few months now, and in the short term I’ve noticed more energy and the ability to ‘bounce back’ quicker after a late night with a few cocktails,” one pleased reviewer shared.

The formula is quite simple to use. The brand recommends taking one stick daily, which can be mixed into smoothies or drinks. It doesn’t have a stong flavor, and the powder format is believed to aborb easily into the body, offering a more efficient delivery system.

Tru Niagen is also vegetarian, third-party tested for safety and purity and backed by more than 23 years of research and innovation. As with any supplement, check with your healthcare provider before use, especially if you have any pre-existing health conditions.
