Coronation Street has confirmed the future of Will Driscoll’s dark new storyline after a key plot change. Will is being groomed by his former athletics coach Megan Walsh, but Megan gets a reason to stick around on the cobbles that changes everything…

Megan dropped Will off in Weatherfield in today’s episode, after the pair spent the night together – with Ben and Eva under the impression that he’s been at an athletics competition.

They get a shock when George almost caught them kissing in the car. After this close shave, Megan wondered whether they should end their relationship before they got exposed.

Will returned home in a foul mood, and Ollie figured that his relationship with his elusive girlfriend back in Hull might be over.

Meanwhile, Ben spotted Megan before she left and thanked her for coaching Will, even inviting her to the pub for lunch.

When Will went back inside the pub after a chat with Maggie, he came face to face with Megan again. He grew agitated and said he didn’t want to get a new coach in Manchester.

During the family lunch, Will confessed that he was dumped by his girlfriend that morning. Megan looked uncomfortable and, fearing what Will might say, she made her excuses and rushed out of the pub.

In a secret meeting outside, Megan praised Will for being mature and not blowing their cover, so said she wanted to continue their affair after all.

Will formulated a plan and told Ben and Eva that he wanted to go back to Hull for his athletics – suggesting that he goes back to his old school and lives with a friend then comes back to Manchester on the weekends.

Ben agreed to consider this proposal and later decided that it could be a good idea, but Maggie was completely against Will moving away.

Later, Ben told Will he could go back to Hull – but at that moment, Eva and Maggie returned with Megan in tow to announce that Megan would be paid to train him twice a week in Weatherfield instead.

Now that long distance is no longer an issue, how will Will and Megan’s disturbing story continue?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
