The third season of Love Island: All Stars has been delayed indefinitely after ITV postponed filming due to safety concerns. In a statement, the broadcaster said that health and safety was always the “greatest priority”.

The ITV reality series was due to return on Monday (12 January), with host Maya Jama presiding over the action as several stars head to South Africa for another shot at finding love in the Villa.

The country has been beset by wildfires in recent days, however, and it has been confirmed that the production team were evacuated from the area. Filming has been postponed, with the transmission of the season being delayed until further notice.

“Further to a production evacuation owing to ongoing wildfires in the area, our assessment of the location site has concluded that filming will need to be postponed,” reads a statement from an ITV spokesperson.

“Health and safety is our greatest priority and will always come first, and therefore the transmission of Love Island: All Stars will be delayed until a date to be confirmed,” the statement continued.

While we’ll have to wait for ITV to confirm the premiere date for the third season, the initial cast list – before late arrivals and bombshells enter the Villa – had already been confirmed, with 12 familiar faces coming back to the series.

The oldest face in terms of their original stint is Charlie Frederick, who appeared in the fourth season of the main show. Belle Hassan and Leanne Amaning, who appeared in the fifth and sixth season respectively, are some of the other ‘older’ stars.

Millie Court, Jack Keating and Shaq Muhammad are the sole representatives from the seventh, eighth and ninth seasons respectively, while season 10 has two faces in the shape of Jess Harding and Whitney Adebayo.

Ciaran Davies and Sean Stone are flying the flag for the 11th season, while Helena Ford and Tommy Bradley back on the series just five months after their stints in the 12th season of the show.

Love Island airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
