Coronation Street spoilers follow from Tuesday’s episode (20 January), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.

Coronation Street airs a big update on Megan Walsh’s pregnancy plot tonight, as she is taken to A&E amid fears for her unborn baby. But with Ben Driscoll also suffering a sudden health scare, will she be caught at the hospital with his son Will?

Last night, groomer Megan told teenage Will that she was pregnant with his child, after her ill health began to cause him concern. Despite initially booking an abortion, Megan decided to continue her pregnancy as it could be her only chance conceive naturally.

Knowing that her baby bump would be showing in a few months, Megan planned to leave Weatherfield. However, Will seemingly convinced her to stay and in tonight’s episode she enquires about becoming Leanne Battersby’s roommate.

Later, Will finds a distressed-looking Megan emerging from the pub toilets and asks her if everything’s okay. She reveals that there might be “something wrong” with the baby, and the pair head off to get checked out.

Back at The Rovers, Eva and Maggie continue to clash over Leanne’s recent offer to buy Maggie’s share of the pub. With Ben once again caught in the middle of their bickering, he slips out to attend to a beer delivery.

While he’s gone, Leanne tries one last attempt to coax Maggie into a sale, but the matriarch is unmoved. As a departing Leanne grabs her bag off a bar stool, Maggie stages a dramatic fall, claiming foul play.

“She shoved me to the floor. Did you see that, Lauren? She was trying to kill me!” Maggie shouts for the whole pub to hear.

When Ben returns, he is greeted by Eva and Maggie who each have differing versions of the event. However, Eva quickly notices his sickly demeanour and shortness of breath before he admits he’s been “having heart palpitations all day”.

Ben is rushed to hospital, where Eva finds Will in the waiting room – not realising he is there with Megan. The coach hides as Will tries to explain himself, narrowly avoiding getting caught.

“It’s fine, darling. You’ve not missed anything. Your dad’s still waiting to chat to the doctor,” Eva tells Will, believing he is there for Ben. “Listen, I’m so sorry that I had to leave you a voice note. You must have been going out of your head.”

Later, Megan fills Will in on the baby’s health, explaining that it was “only spotting” and that the baby is fine. The pair share their happiness about the pregnancy but Megan warns the teen that they “need to stay away from each other” after their close call at the hospital.

“Just until we’ve got enough money to leave,” she adds.

Coronation Street has worked on Will and Megan’s grooming storyline with support from Barnardo’s. Support and information is available via the charity’s website.

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX and YouTube.
