Coronation Street fans were shocked to discover that Monday’s upcoming flashforward episode – which kicks off a brand new death storyline – was actually briefly available to watch in full on YouTube last night.

Digital Spy has chosen not to reveal any of the leaked spoilers before the proper transmission next week, but officially released advance spoilers have told people what to expect.

In the episode, the action jumps ahead to April, where Betsy Swain finds a dead body.

Five potential victims are confirmed, with the next two months featuring plenty of breadcrumbs leading up to the ultimate reveal.

Although the episode is no longer publicly available to watch on YouTube, spoilers are already out there, and that includes the names of the five possible victims. So do be careful if you’re browsing social media or Reddit, etc over the weekend!

We’ve reached out to the folks at Corrie regarding the leak, but ITV has offered no comment about it.

Speaking about the episode previously, the soap’s boss Kate Brooks said: “This episode is something that’s been in the making for a really long time.

“It gives us a destination for all the big stories we have on the table, they all come together to become something much bigger.

“We’ll take an audience on a journey to find out who that body is and what happened. What’s the backstory? How did they get to that place?”

Brooks also teased that she doesn’t think she’s ever “told a story that involves quite as many character groups as this” and that “there are so many twists and turns” that viewers will constantly be second-guessing themselves.

And before you go accusing Corrie of copying EastEnders, which did its own flashforward on New Year’s Day, Brooks reiterated that the team have been working on this story for a while, and the key difference is that they’ll catch up to their flashforward in two months, rather than a year.

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
