Scream 7 has now landed in cinemas as talk builds that it might not actually be the final Scream movie. Series creator Kevin Williamson revealed that he has already spoken to Neve Campbell about a return (via Deadline), which Variety reports is already in the works.
As a result, you might be wondering whether Scream 7 has a post-credit scene to tease the future of Ghostface. Credit scenes in Scream movies are rare, with Scream VI being the only one with a post-credit scene – and that was a joke at the expense of the modern trend of credit scenes.
If you’re going to see the new movie this weekend and wondering if you need to stick around, we can confirm that Scream 7 does have a credit scene. It comes mid-credits after the traditional Scream cast photos, and there’s nothing after the credits wrap.
Because it comes after the cast photos, you might have missed it if you didn’t stick around for those. Don’t worry too much though as it’s not an essential scene unless you’re massive fans of Mindy and Chad Meeks-Martin.
The credit scene cuts back to Sidney’s house following the events of the finale. We had already seen Gale allow Mindy to finally report on live TV, and the credit scene shows Mindy’s broadcast of the day’s events with Chad as her cameraman.
It’s a fun scene that plays out over the credits, but doesn’t have any sequel setup or surprise Ghostface twist, so you won’t miss anything if you skipped it.

It will likely depend on how well Scream 7 does at the box office as to whether we’ll actually see Ghostface return. The new movie could act as a finale to the series, given how much it refers back to the original movie, but equally could be a springboard to Sidney’s daughter Tatum (Isabel May) becoming the new lead.
Whether that happens or not, it seems as though Neve Campbell has an idea. “When you’re sitting on the set at 3:00 in the morning, you’re like, ‘Well, what would Scream 8 be about?’ And you just start spit-balling,” Williamson told Deadline at the Scream 7 premiere.
“And Neve had this great idea, and everyone seemed to run with it. So yeah, if this movie works and people want it, we’re here for the fans. So, if they want it, we’ll certainly give it to them.”
