For years, Zara Larsson has kept fans mesmerized with her washboard abs and toned physique.

Whether it’s on the red carpet or performing in front of packed-out crowds, the 28-year-old Lush Life singer is known to proudly bare her flat stomach in skimpy outfits, which has left fans curious to know her exercise secrets.    

In recent months, Swedish pop star Larsson’s impressive frame has seen her at the center of surgery rumors.

She’s also jokingly downplayed just how hard she has worked to achieve her enviable results. 

Here, the Daily Mail takes a closer look inside Larsson’s diet and exercise regime, which she has kept close to her chest.

In 2021, Larsson shared her exercise routine with Women’s Health where she revealed she likes to work out in the morning with her personal trainer.

‘I like to do that in the morning just to get it over with,’ she said.

‘If I go to the gym and I don’t have anyone telling me what to do and looking at me actually doing it, I’m just half-a** doing it,’ she said.

In an accompanying video, Larsson carried out a strength workout using kettlebells and a resistance band. 

The dead bug exercise – lowering the opposite arm and leg while keeping the lower back pressed to the floor – was incorporated into her routine, as was the bird dog row – lifting the opposite arm and leg while in a tabletop position on a bench, then performing a rowing motion with a dumbbell – both of which target the core. 

Larsson complemented her strength training with a run on a treadmill.  

More recently, she joked that belly laughing has helped her to maintain her abs.

‘I just laugh and laugh and laugh,’ she said in a video shared earlier this month. 

‘I don’t go to the gym. I don’t do anything special. Sorry, I’m just genetically blessed.

‘People are like, “Seriously, what is [your workout routine]?” No, I laugh like so much.’

Larsson has been accused of having a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) in the past, which she has previously denied.

‘You have to stop saying this,’ she said in a video shared online. ‘I don’t know where it comes from.’

As for her diet, Larsson has said in the past that she eats food high in proteins and rich in fiber – and has a particular penchant for Southeast Asian cuisine.

‘Anything in that area, love, love, love, love,’ she told Women’s Health. 

‘Sushi is one of my favorites. Nigiri, a classic piece of fish on some yummy rice is my go-to. I also love toro, the fatty tuna, or fatty salmon.’

While she prefers sleeping in rather than waking up for breakfast, Larsson does sometimes indulge in a morning smoothie.

‘It’s quick to get down so I can go on about my day,’ she told the publication, adding that her go-to typically has raspberries, banana, avocado, maca powder, oats, and sometimes ice cream.

In a social media post uploaded in August 2025, Larsson revealed that she likes her food that has marinated for hours.

‘Let me tell you a secret,’ she said. ‘I love food that’s been sitting out for at least two hours.

‘Like, I fu***** hate when people put things in the fridge: you ruin the food.’
