In tonight’s episode, Vinny continued hiding a secret from Gabby, who was unaware he had been blackmailed by Graham.
The con artist had taken advantage of Vinny’s doubts about his sexuality. In previous scenes, Graham posed as a man named Mike and pretended to be romantically interested in Vinny only to then ask him for money in exchange for his silence.

After yet another Graham’s request for cash, Vinny reported him to the police and was expected to take the stand against him — but it seems it won’t be happening now.
In a new twist, the prosecution barrister on the case informed Vinny that Graham’s defence intended to call Gabby as a witness.
“They say she has relevant information, but it’s mainly to stop you taking the stand,” the prosecutor told a shocked Vinny. “We see these sorts of shady tactics all the time.”
“The one thing I wanted was to keep Gabby out of this. She can’t find out,” Vinny reiterated.
Later on, Vinny opened up to Kammy Hadiq, who encouraged him to “firm up” and reminded him he would be doing the right thing by testifying.
“You’re gonna tell Gabby everything. She’ll get it. She loves you. It’ll be fine, trust me,” Kammy told his friend.
“And then you’re gonna go to court, and we’re gonna take the piece of work down. Okay?”
An unconvinced Vinny muttered an “okay” but remained pensive.

Things took a turn when Gabby found the court summons that Vinny had hidden from her.
When she confronted Vinny, he lied to her, concealing his doubts from her. Vinny told Gabby he and Graham were friends before he “flipped out”.
Gabby seemed understanding, asking Vinny if he wanted her to go to court for moral support.
“No, there’s no need for that,” he hurriedly replied. “I’ll let you know how it goes after.”
Speaking with Kammy later on, Vinny told him he wouldn’t go to court.
“I can’t just face my fears or whatever you keep telling me to do cause it’s my life being blown up,” Vinny said, worrying about his marriage and Thomas’s adoption.
“I can’t risk it. I don’t wanna do it. I don’t, okay? End of,” he added.
“I get it. Sometimes you’ve got to protect your peace,” Kammy said.
After telling Gabby he wouldn’t testify, Vinny called the prosecutor, Ms Longford.

Vinny is set to change his mind again in new scenes, finally deciding to appear in court, our Emmerdale insider confirmed.
“But this leaves him in a sticky situation when Gabby turns up at court as he’s about to speak about his doubts over his sexuality,” they said.
“Plus, let’s not forget that Gabby had a sordid one-night stand shortly before their wedding. There are big secrets from both sides…”
