Gilmore Girls star Lauren Graham has teamed up with the show’s creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, on a brand new project.
25 years after the series first premiered, Celadon Books, a division of Macmillan, has confirmed that Graham and Sherman-Palladino are collaborating on a book about the comedy-drama.
“This is THE book Gilmore Girls fans have been waiting for — and that is saying a lot,” Celadon Books and Flatiron Books president and publisher Deb Futter said. “Lauren and Amy are television legends and their stories, which have not been shared before, are what TV lore is made of.”
According to the publisher, the book will include “never-before-shared stories”, with Graham and Sherman-Palladino offering “an intimate, behind-the-scenes portrait of their creative partnership and the spark that defined Lorelai Gilmore and the world of Stars Hollow.
“Along the way, they revisit unforgettable moments from the set—capturing the humor, heart, and alchemy that has made the series an enduring classic.”

Speaking about the project, Graham raved: “I’m thrilled to collaborate with Amy to bring readers all our stories of the special years we spent filming Gilmore Girls, the first and second time.”
Echoing this sentiment, Sherman-Palladino added: “I will jump at any chance to collaborate with Lauren Graham. On anything. Be it a boozy broads lunch at Joe Allen’s, or writing an actual book, the answer will always be ‘yes.’ I find myself wanting to be permanently linked to her side forever. Not sure it’s healthy, for either of us, but it’s just the reality of the situation.”
