Emmerdale spoilers follow from Friday’s episode (15 January), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.
Emmerdale’s Joe Tate breaks his silence tonight after secretly seeing Graham Foster still alive in Corriedale. Joe caught a brief glimpse of Graham in the closing scenes of the recent crossover special, but he hasn’t confided in anyone about the bombshell moment… until now.
Friday’s episode sees Joe confide in his partner Dawn Fletcher, who notices his strange mood. Joe has recently been fixated on his latest mission to steal Butler’s Farm away from Moira Dingle, but that’s not the only thing on his mind…
“I’ve been thinking a lot about Graham recently,” Joe admits. “I really miss him. He was kind of like a dad – a lot more so than my real dad anyway. We argued all the time and he was not without his faults, but I’m pretty sure he cared about me.”
When Dawn asks what’s brought this on after so many years without Graham, a confused Joe replies: “I think I saw him in the hospital. It’s crazy and obviously I am imagining it. But what if he’s still alive?”

It turns out that Joe has even hired a private investigator to uncover the truth about Graham’s demise once and for all. Former Hollyoaks star Vera Chok has been cast in the role of Summer the PI, who meets up with Joe at The Hide in tonight’s episode.
Summer brings along DI Dent, who appeared in eight episodes in 2020 when she investigated Graham’s murder.
Dent verifies that she saw Graham’s body at the scene and there’s no basis to believe that he’s still alive… but given what we know, is she being entirely honest with her analysis? Fans can see tonight’s episode on ITV1 this evening, or right now on ITVX and YouTube, to see how the full scenes play out.

Graham’s shock appearance in Corriedale left fans baffled, as he’s been presumed dead since 2020 when Pierce Harris seemingly killed him. The full story of how he survived will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Emmerdale’s producer Laura Shaw recently said: “A familiar face is returning to the village full-time! None other than Graham Foster will make a sensational comeback.
“His return will have massive repercussions for both Kim, with whom he shares a complex love and hate relationship, and Rhona, who was about to run away with him.
“Graham will explain exactly what happened six years ago when he was ‘killed’, but the question will be whether Joe can ever forgive his father-figure for allowing him to believe he was dead.”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
