The Masked Singer UK spoilers follow.
The seventh season of The Masked Singer UK continued tonight, but it proved to be curtains for one act as they were eliminated. With Ben Shephard joining the panel on the night, which contestant performed their final song?
After each of the five acts performed for the first time in the evening, it was Sloth and Gargoyle who were immediately at risk, with their renditions of Soft Cell’s ‘Tainted Love’ and Evanescence’s ‘Bring Me to Life’ not doing enough to keep them out of the bottom two.
In the sing-off, they each had another chance to impress the panel and live audience one more time, with the pair performing Tommy Steele’s ‘Flash Bang Wallop’ and Joan Jett’s ‘Bad Reputation’ respectively.
After a nervous wait, it was Gargoyle who was eliminated, with Marcella Detroit being unveiled underneath the mask. The singer, who was a member of Shakespears Sister, performed the group’s smash-hit ‘Stay’ after being unveiled.

“I’m really sad to go. It’s been an incredible experience,” said Detroit following her exit. “Everyone has been so nice and so much fun. Very helpful, really kind. I got the offer at the beginning of the summer.
“There’s a mysticism about it. It’s kind of challenging but it’s also fun because no one really knows who you are. You can just have fun with it,” added the star, who explained that they jumped at the “opportunity” to participate.
Detroit becomes the fourth celebrity to be eliminated from the season following Alex Jones, Professor Green and John Lydon, with that trio being unveiled as Disc Jockey, Teabag and Yak respectively.

“For me, I hope the fun comes across,” said Lydon, the frontman of The Sex Pistols and Public Image Ltd. “Rather than going up there and doing sing-along and guessing who I am straight away, I thought, let’s show the other side of me – an absolute fun-star.”
“I’m the court jester by nature. It’s just the way it is… I’m glad to be out of most of this outfit! It’s back breaking in here,” added the singer, who has also appeared in The Masked Singer US and I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!.
The Masked Singer UK returns next Saturday at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
